I awoke early this morning… well actually, I was woken at 4am by two drunk friends who had good intentions (I think), but poor timing. Can you tell I'm a little bitter? I'm really not a morning person and I value my sleep quite highly. Anyway, I couldn't get back to sleep so I set off on my bike to try and catch the sunrise on the other side of the island. I just about made it to Cape Yamu and started shooting. Here's the view of Phang Nga Bay from one of the luxury villas being built. Perhaps if I owned a villa which had a sunrise view like this it would prompt me to change my sleeping habits. Just dreaming
More from the archives. Here's a photo from Noosa in Queensland, Australia. Noosa a pretty expensive (and beautiful) place to stay in Oz, but there is a campsite in a prime location on the waters edge which is where we stayed for a few nights.
Another shot to keep the blog ticking-over. I still haven't managed to get out with my camera, so this one's from a while back. It's Big Buddha Beach at the north end of Koh Samui, Thailand. It's a great sunset spot and I have fond memories of sipping cocktails while watching the day turn to night.
A shot from a while ago that I never got round to posting, mainly because it was shot as a portrait and I try and refrain from posting portraits on this blog (they never look as good on my monitor). Anyhow, I cropped off the top of the lookout tower and I'm satisfied it works as a landscape too… so here it is [taken on Phuket last year].
After a tiring, but excellent days rockclimbing at Railay beach in Thailand we sat down for an evening meal while the sun set. We were quite the international group and our waitress was having some difficulty understanding our order.
Very little post processing on this shot; just cropped a little.
Here's downtown Sydney at sunset. The shot was taken from the Manly ferry on the way into the city. I've decided to post some shots I took a few years back – partly coz I have nothing new to post, but also I want to archive some pictures I took back then on my photoblog.
