At over 24 metres high, it's hard to get a photo of the Buddha statues face; you're always looking up. Each of those fingers are about the width of a man. More from the Mingmongkol Buddha to come.

Taken in June 2008 here's the Mingmongkol Big Buddha while under construction. The structure is mainly reenforced cememnt which is plated with marble tiles. To help fund the project, visitors to the site could purchase one of the marble tiles to write their own message on, which would then be included in the final structure forever ! Well atleast for a few months until the weather completely removed all the marker ink. I purchased one. ...
