A couple of bays down from Lighthouse Beach, Kovalam, there is a small fishing village.  At one end of the bay is a large Mosque, at the other a equally large Church.  When I visited on a Sunday morning there was no fishing going on and half the people I met were in their 'Sunday best' for the morning service.
